Mindful Activities

As well as taking more notice of the things that are already going on in our minds, we can decide to pay more attention to all kinds of every day moments.

Deliberately paying attention in this way will prolong the time we spend in "mindful mode" and strengthen our ability to be mindful and compassionate under pressure.

Walking is one of the finest exercises and a brilliant stress reliever and mood booster.

A good walk can put the world in perspective and soothe your frayed nerves. If you really want to feel alive, go for a walk in the wind or rain!

As well as being exciting, holidays and travelling abroad can also be stressful.

This list suggests some practices and activities you or your childern can use on holiday to help you feel calm as well as absorb all the enjoyment from being away.

Boost feel-good hormones and practice gratitude together with family and friends, young and old.

Baking comforting and nourishing food is such a great way to weave mindfulness and self compassion into everyday life.

This delicious and wholesome recipe from Fearne Cotton is a favourite of mine. Rubbing the dry ingredients together, the fragrant spices, the bubbling fruit, the lush flavours... There is so much here to indulge the senses.
